” I thank the God who reigns
for the fruit
that there still is
from this course”
I have used God’s Answer to Aids extensively in prison ministry over the years. We have always regarded this as ‘Rolls Royce Curriculum’ because of the amount of LifeChange we saw from this course, and it has been wonderful to observe God at Work! I have been SO encouraged to discover ‘Harvest Fruit’ still blossoming from this course and have been praising God for this. May this story be as much of an encouragement to you as it has been to me…
In 2008 I was doing God’s Answer to Aids in one of the prisons, working through all the pre-release guys so that their parole requirements were met. In one of the groups was John **. He sat right in front, attended every session, listened intently and never took his eyes off my face. When we did the Forgiveness Lesson, he came to me afterwards to ask if I would help him to find forgiveness in the Lord Jesus. Right there and then, putting his hand on his chest, he said, “You see Ma’am, there is much to forgive.” That day he accepted Christ as His Saviour, finished the course and went out into a hard world.
I have prayed for John since then, but we lost contact over the years. This year I have become more and more burdened for him and have been praying earnestly that the Lord would lead me to him.
In August, I received this SMS: ”Afternoon Mama, I hope you are well. I have beenlooking for you for a long time, it’s John, one of your kids from prison. Can we meet up? I’m so glad that I finally get the chance to chat with you. Remember you are theone who changed my life and I’m still a man of God.“
Well we did meet up. He came with his wife and 4 year old daughter. We had a wonderful reunion. He is actively involved in a church fellowship; and meets up with other ex prisoners -sometimes also for Bible study. Johnis employed in a shop and trains security personnel. He has told me that when they were doing a security check on him, there was not even a record of his prison sentence!
I will continue to meet with John and his wife to disciple them. And I have been praising God for the work He has done in John’s life over these years. I thank the God who reigns for the fruit that there still is from God’s Answer to Aids!
(With thanks to Ruth for this story)

Eagle Youth Empowerment is a Walk Thru the Bible-supported Children’s Project
run by Living Hope Tabernacle Church of the Nazarene.
The aftercare programme aims to impact children from Jabulani spiritually, physically and mentally and to support their academics. This has left the community wanting more of the programme.
As a result of the time invested by the facilitators, the programme has been successful in winning children and their families to Christ. According to Pastor Nkosi of Living Hope Tabernacle, “We have also seen a great improvement in the behaviour of the children and even in their academics, in some cases even a total transformation.”
Reaching out to other churches
Eagle Youth Empowerment hosted a Kidz At Heart training event run by Walk Thru the Bible to train the project facilitators. It was a joy to also invite children’s workers from different churches in Soweto to be part of this training – to better equip them to teach the Word of God to children.
In order to meet the needs of impoverished families, Eagle Youth Empowerment runs a feeding scheme every afternoon for 100 children in the programme. They have also assisted some of the most impoverished families with grocery packs.
A recent holiday camp hosted by Eagle Youth Empowerment catered for 90 children where spiritual, mental, physical and psychological activities were presented -as well as providing three full meals a day.
“We are grateful for every child and family that have been impacted by this programme and changed by hearing the Word of God which the volunteers bring.”

40 Days of Prayer will help you learn to pray with greater faith than ever before
This is a six-week journey of discovery in learning how to cultivate a powerful prayer life. The 40 Days of Prayer Church campaign aims to unite the whole congregation in prayer.
Each week of the campaign has a theme which is carried through from the weekly sermons to the small groups and to individual daily devotions.
Although designed to be used as a church-wide campaign, 40 Days of Prayer also works well as a stand-alone small group resource.
“I have always wanted to know the depth of how to pray and the purpose of praying and what motivated me most was the very simple way this course explains prayer. I can now come confidently to God because, if His words are in my heart, I know that I have a deeper relationship with Him”~ Tsitsi
May you be encouraged by these testimonies:
“40 days of prayer is a powerful prayer. Simple, effective and well known verses to pray to our Father who sees our hearts. God really does hear every whisper, every word.”~ Michel
“It was easy to take the bottom line from each session and remember and apply that! Recalling this main truth helped me to change my attitude and pray differently.”~ Madalein
“40 Days of Prayer really drew our small group members closer to each other. We formed such a connection! This study was also great preparation for what has been happening in my life. I got so much wisdom from it!”~ Anonymous

Kidz At Heart (KAH), in partnership with Walk Thru the Bible, in June 2022, held a training event for people who minister to children in the rural villages of Limpopo. This included people working with children in churches, in drop-off centres, in informal Bible Schools and also pastors.
The training for 60 people who minister to children was conducted by Johannesburg-based instructors along with local instructors from Mooketsi in Limpopo.
We celebrate the fact that there are now local instructors with a heart for children, who have been mentored and can continue with this valuable work in an area where there is a great need for training.
Testimonies from the excited group of attendees who will nurture these children are so encouraging…
“I have learnt to keep each lesson fun and that all I do or teach glorifies God. I feel like I am on the right path to teach children the right way.” ~Marianda
“Training was very helpful to me and the children of the village I’m living in.” ~ Mpho, Sunday School Teacher.
“This wonderful training brings the Bible to everyday life.”~ Tintsualo.
“The training is excellent in helping us to teach and nurture children with different levels of intelligence. It also emphasised that God is relational and we need to build a relationship with Him.” ~ Mohale.
“I will now teach to accommodate each child’s personality because each child is different.” ~ Frida.
“The course was an enlightenment. God gave me new revelations for the Scriptures I have read many times before.” ~ Pastor.
“My heart is filled with joy and I learned that ministering to children is what my heart loves.” ~Tesogo.

Reverend Lebogang Pule shares his experience of the Sharpening Your People Skills Live Event:

“What I saw God do in their marriage through this event just blew me away”
I regularly use Sharpening Your People Skills in the premarital counselling that I do. It’s great to see the eyes of the couple open as they learn how to relate to each other as they go through the material. And I get to witness that ‘AHA’ moment when they realize that the other person isn’t being difficult; they’re just different!
I have also used it in larger groups. For example, I recently taught Sharpening Your People Skills to a group of 140 couples and young adults in Mahikeng. I was particularly humbled by the story of a married couple who were already at the point of separation because of their differences. Already they saw no future together. Their pastor, however, asked them to attend the Sharpening Your People Skills Live Event that I was teaching and requested that they sit together. And in honour of their pastor, they obliged. What I saw God do in their marriage through this event just blew me away. I met with them after the event, and amid many tears, they were reconciled – having come to an understanding of each other and how to improve their relationship. In some ways, I felt like a hero, when all I did was show up and teach the Live Event. This is just a reminder that there are many challenges in this world, and sometimes it feels like it’s crashing in, but there are also these good things happening!
In my own marriage
Sharpening Your People Skills has also helped me personally to learn how to serve my wife in the way that she is wired, instead of the way that I am wired. I have heard many people, even Christians, say: “I thought my husband or wife was just being mean, and it turns out that they just have a different behavioural style!” You see it wasn’t that their partner was wrong, or even mean; they were actually just different. And Sharpening Your People Skills has given these couples the tools to understand each other.
You know, many young adults find it difficult to build relationships. What’s great about Sharpening Your People Skills is that it’s totally non-threatening. It teaches the skills to better understand yourself and then better understand those around you, and so improve relationships.
A great tool for building relationships
I have found that Sharpening Your People Skills is a great tool for building relationships with people. And once you have a relationship with someone, it gives you an opportunity to present Christ to them and to model His life and love.
It has such potential for use in marriages, families, pastoral teams and in the working and business environment.”
