One of the highlights, during a recent trip to Malawi to train new ntLIVE instructors, was the opportunity to see the instructors in action and visit local schools alongside the teaching team.

In one classroom, approximately 150 children were seated on the floor, yet remained fully engaged throughout the session.

Edna, a teacher at one of the primary schools, shared how otLIVE and ntLIVE were of great importance at her school:

Please pray for this faithful group of otLIVE and ntLIVE instructors in Malawi – a team of men and women who faithfully teach the big picture of the Old and New Testament in Malawian schools – often travelling long distances on a bicycle to do so.

60 pastors, youth leaders and children’s ministry leaders gathered on a cold Friday morning – all with the united vision of helping children and young people engage with the Bible. An outstanding theme was reigniting the culture and passion for youth ministry, and renewing a
passion for getting the youth into the Word of God.

The morning included a presentation on otLIVE and training in otSTORIES** – a new easy-to- use curriculum for Sunday School, youth ministry and family devotions. Many of the attendees were excited to be using the curriculum at their church’s holiday clubs and vacation Bible
schools.

The event was run in collaboration with Scripture Union – a partnership which is bearing much fruit. As Njabula, one of the Scripture Union workers, shared:
“Many Christian movements in schools have died down, but otSTORIES is a simple but engaging curriculum that can really help revitalise the student Christian movement. I love that it involves everyone. It’s not just listening, but draws people in. “

Multiplying Ministry from the Philippines to Cambodia

Our dedicated partners in the Philippines recently also took the initiative to equip Bible school interns and missionaries in Cambodia with otLIVE and otStories. It is a beautiful reminder that even geographical lines and language barriers cannot get in the way of God’s Word going forth to the next generation.

After a recent otLIVE Event at Sizanani Primary School, one of the teachers shared:

“I saw how this captured and maintained the interests of our children, right until the end. They are exposed to a lot, and it’s usually the less beneficial content that holds their attention. But it was different with otLIVE, they were interested and involved throughout! They were learning about the God of the Bible in a fun way – not a lecture in a class set-up.

This is so important for children who don’t go to church. They were learning brand new information about God and creation. This can only bring a positive change – even in their self- image, as they learn that their identity comes from God because they are His creation. In this way they won’t seek validation from negative influences and from their friends.

This is much needed! When our learners are touched by God, they can’t not change!”

This is a blessing when it is true for just one more child. How much more so, when it’s a whole school of children!
