| A multiplication explosion in 40 Days |

These are pretty exciting times to see what God is doing. On the day of our team meeting for 40 Days, 60 people came to hear Rick Warren’s opening presentation on Multiplication… not just addition. Up to that point our church, Strooidak in Paarl, Western Cape is one of the oldest in South Africa, had just 9 adult small groups. Most in the team thought we would be lucky to get to 50 groups for the campaign. We prayed that God would let us think bigger and step out in faith. We decided to plan for 440 groups. God was busy opening doors and shortly after that two more churches wanted to join us, one of those being a local Christian Biker’s Church (talk about a different style & culture!)
Schools started to ask if they could join and if there were any materials for the kids? One of our team members created the curriculum for the kids and soon 8 schools joined with learners from 8 to 18 totaling over 2000! The youth are staying connected via Facebook as one of the youth in the groups created a 40 days account. Now halfway into the campaign, there are close to 700 small groups and almost 7000 people community wide participating. These include members from townships, farms and farm workers, businesses, educational centers, prisons and churches.
To handle this outpouring, one of our team members created a website (www.40days.co.za) to handle on line small group
sign ups, campaign dates and a feedback section where participants can share
their stories. I am continually amazed to see what God is doing the Bible verse
…and the Lord added to their number daily… keeps running through my mind. (Acts
2:47).
