Martin Deacon’s appointment as International Director for Turn the Tide

On 4th December 2008 the Board of Directors of Walk Thru the Bible Southern Africa announced the appointment of Martin Deacon in the role of International Director for Turn the Tide, effective the 1st January 2009. In addition to this role, Martin will also be serving with Call2All. Below is a personal letter from Martin reflecting on his new
roles.

Dear Friends,

Anneli and I are delighted to share with you that my new role with Call2All (www.call2all.org) will have much synergy with South Africa and the Walk Thru the Bible Southern Africa / Turn the Tide ministry.

I am delighted to have been called to serve in this new role - it is a natural extension of many ministry relationships I am a part of and aligns with the commitment to Christ's Great Commission I made in 1984. My major Call2All assignment is to lead mobilisation efforts to see strategic leaders from all 239 nations on earth attend the next 2 global congresses. Many of you know I love this kind of work and knowing the power of such conferences (Pentecost – Jerusalem, Acts 2, Billy Graham - Amsterdam 2000, and the many Turn the Tide conferences) where people from all over the world gather to hear, be mobilised and equipped to finish the task the Lord gave us. The challenge is not possible but for the Lord's blessing and His people coming together and working in unity (John 17) – and I sense it is happening!

The Board of Directors of Walk Thru the Bible Southern Africa has also asked me to again join the leadership team together with Lee Helling and Elvis Mvulane. I will serve as an International Director of Turn the Tide whilst still residing in the USA.

After Hong Kong in 2009 Call2All is hosting their second global gathering in May 2010 in Cape Town (together with many other initiatives in South Africa – including partnering with the Global Day of Prayer). Not only are missions groups – big and small – working together in unprecedented ways, but God is using Call2All to bring together the global missions and prayer movements for such a time as this.

Since the Board of Directors of Walk Thru the Bible Southern Africa asked me to give further support and leadership with regional initiatives, Lord willing then we plan to transition to South Africa for just such a season before 2010.

Please pray for us often as a family and these new roles. The mobilisation challenges will require international travel and transitions. We will be developing a support base raising personal funds and it will require us to trust the Lord and His people in a new way.

I am delighted that my friend Phil Tuttle, now president of Walk Thru the Bible USA, is scheduled to also be in South Africa during 2010, connecting with and training WorldTeachers and pastors.

Indeed 2009 is off to a running start and a very busy year for all of us - as I know yours certainly is as well.

May the Lord bless you and use you -  in Jerusalem, Judea … and to the uttermost parts of the earth!

Groete, Liefde en Seen

Martin, Anneli, Linne and Martin

Note : Please go to www.call2all.org and register to get email updates and use it to pray for this rapidly growing movement that is an unprecedented strategic and action orientated collaboration between major missions groups. Call2all is committed to take the gospel to the least, the last and the lost and believe the Great Commission is doable in our generation.
