Addiction. It's a very real and painful struggle for many that you serve. However, often hidden from view, addiction is also a lonely reality for pastors and ministry leaders themselves.
Both the schedule and the lifestyle of ministry place leaders at risk to be ensnared by addictions: workaholism, pornography, food addictions, and others.
In this live CCN broadcast, Dr. David Eckman, author of Becoming What God Intended, will offer real hope and help to protect you, your ministry, family and your congregation from the threat of addictive patterns and behaviors.
According to Dr. Eckman, “Those addictive behaviors normally develop because key areas are unaddressed in the life.”
The constant pace that ministry demands often leaves ministry leaders without the resources necessary to pay attention to their own emotional needs and relational well-being.
Dr. Eckman offers his own first-hand, “thinking pastor's” approach to the subject. Until gaining a true picture of how God truly loved him, Dr. Eckman's own emotional life remained frozen throughout many years pursuing theological study and serving as a pastor.
In this seminar, you'll discover how a vibrant spirituality, a rich relational life, and specific preventive practices can protect you from addiction.
Join us for this powerful broadcast, you'll be doing something that will have a lasting effect on your health, life and ministry for years to come.
Dr. David Eckman is co-founder of the Becoming What God Intended Seminars (BWGI), designed to support the efficacy of central Christian truths in personal, relational and organizational challenges. He is consultant with Campus Crusade of the Northwest and the Northwest Conservative Baptist Churches. Formerly the executive vice-president of Western Seminary, Dr. Eckman is currently serving as part-time faculty at Western Seminary in the areas of spiritual formation and Old Testament studies.
