Church youth impacting their community!

Written by Ian Kern-Martin, Randburg Sun

An article was placed in the Randburg Sun which reported on the good work that Rosebank Union Church is doing:

As part of its "40 Days of Community *" involvement project, members of the Rosebank Union Church youth group gathered to do some "dirty work" by cleaning up the Braamfontein Spruit.  Apart from the 130 enthusiastic youth adults, members of City Parks, Joburg Metro Police as well as SAS and ADT security companies were out in force to support the initiative.

Nicole Fergusson of Rosebank Union Church elaborated on the reason for the clean-up.  "We feel it's vital to get our youth involved in an ongoing project to rehabilitate the area.  We aim to give special attention to the Braamfontein Spruit Trail as it is an important tourist attraction.  It's also important to provide local residents with an area where they can relax."  Councilor Alison van der Molen was also on hand to cheer the volunteers on and expressed gratitude to all the role players.  "To have young people involved in the beautification of the area is simply stunning.  I'm also very grateful to the Metro police and City Parks for showing their support."
